Problem

When upgrading Revu, the following error displays and the installation stops.

Error 1303. Insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Bluebeam Software\Bluebeam Revu\Revu. The installation cannot continue. Log in as an administrator or contact your system administrator.

Solution

If this error displays when reinstalling or upgrading Bluebeam Revu, follow these steps to successfully complete the Revu installation.

  1. Restart the computer and start the Revu installation again. The permissions of the folder mentioned in the original error should be resolved after Windows restarts.  The installation should now complete successfully.
  2. If the problem continues, restart your Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 computer in “safe mode”.
    1. Open the folder Program Files folder:
      • Click Start, type C:\Program Files\ and press enter.
    2. Delete the Bluebeam Software folder.
    3. Restart Windows normally and login using your regular Windows account.
    4. Restart the Bluebeam install.
