Problem

You may need to repair the Microsoft .NET Framework if your Bluebeam software or some of its functions aren’t working and re-installing hasn’t resolved the issue.

Why is this Happening?

This is caused by an issue with Microsoft .NET Framework, which Bluebeam applications rely on  for much of their functionality.

Solution

To resolve the issue, you should follow the relevant set of steps listed below for repairing the Microsoft .NET Framework installation:

Windows 7

For Windows 7, you may disable/re-enable the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 within the Control Panel to effectively repair it:

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. In the Programs and Features section, click the Turn Windows feature on or off link.
  3. Uncheck the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 entry, so the checkbox is blank.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click the Turn Windows feature on or off link again.
  6. Re-select the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 entry, so the checkbox is a solid blue square.
  7. Click OK.

Restart Windows after the .NET repair and try relaunching Revu to see if functionality has been restored. If not, try running the Microsoft .NET Repair Tool.

Note: Windows 8.1 and 10 include the .NET Framework as part of the Windows Operating System and it cannot be removed or reinstalled.

Windows Vista and XP

Microsoft no longer supports Windows Vista and Windows XP. With this in mind, we're unable to support Revu software running on unsupported versions of Windows. Please refer to our compatibility chart and Technical Services Overview for more details.

If you'd like to run Bluebeam Revu on a supported version of Windows, you can purchase the current version online from the Bluebeam Store.

  1. Open the Control Panel, then click Uninstall a program (Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (XP).
  2. Select (highlight) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in the list of programs.
  3. Click the Change/Remove button.
  4. Select Repair from the next pop-up window.
  5. Click Next to proceed with the repair.

Restart Windows after the .NET repair and try relaunching Revu to see if functionality has been restored. If not, try running the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool.

Note: Bluebeam Revu 7 and above use the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, Bluebeam Revu 4 to 6 use the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
