Upgrading between Revu editions is called a crossgrade (e.g., Standard 2019 to eXtreme 2019). Depending on your needs, you may find another edition of Revu best fits your current workflow. In order to qualify for a crossgrade, you must have a license with active Maintenance.
If you have a license for an older version of Revu and do not have active Maintenance, then you will need to purchase the upgrade (e.g., Standard 2017 without Maintenance to eXtreme 2019). For more information about crossgrading and purchasing a new license, contact sales@bluebeam.com or visit Purchasing.
To compare the differences between each edition, see the Edition Overview page.
How to install a new edition of Revu
Crossgrading doesn’t affect your existing Revu settings as long as you aren’t migrating to a new computer. However, it’s still a good idea to keep a backup file in a location other than your local hard drive, so it can be restored in the event of a hard drive failure or other unforeseen circumstances.
After acquiring your new license information from sales/purchasing:
- Unregister Revu by going to Revu > Unregister. A dialog box appears informing you that Revu is now in View Mode.
- Select OK. Go to Revu > Register. The registration dialog box appears with your previous Serial Number and Product Key automatically populated.
- Clear the Serial Number and Product Key fields and enter your new licensing information.
- Click Register.
Your new edition is now active.
How to install an older edition of Revu
To change your Revu license to a lower edition (i.e., Revu eXtreme to Revu Standard), follow these steps:
- Have the authorized license administrator email registration@bluebeam.com.
- Include the Revu serial number and the number of seats that need to be downgraded as well as the current edition associated with your license.
Before downgrading, make sure that the requested number of seats aren’t currently registered.
- Upon processing, the license administrator will receive a License Certificate with the new serial number and product key.
- Unregister and re-register Revu just as you would with a new edition.
After downgrading your edition, you’ll have 30 days to revert to your original edition. After this 30-day period, you’ll be charged an upgrade fee.
