Problem

You are trying to perform length or area measurements, but the markup won’t stay on the page.

Solution

• Make sure the Make Annotation box is filled at the bottom of the Measurements panel.
• Check to see if Security is defined in the PDF. The creator of a PDF can define security settings that prevent others from adding markups (including measurements) to the PDF. If you can’t fill the Make Annotation and Store Scale in Page check boxes and all the markup tools are grayed out, then you will not be able to mark up the PDF until the security settings are changed.
