Measurement markups aren’t created | Revu 2017 & below

Problem

You’re trying to perform length or area measurements, but the markup won’t stay on the page.

Solution

Make sure the Make Annotation box is checked at the bottom of the Measurements tab.

Check to see if Security is defined in this PDF file. The person who creates the PDF file can define Security that restricts adding annotations or markups to the PDF.

  1. Open the PDF file in Revu.
  2. Click Settings revu-settings-32x32 > Document Properties document-properties, or use keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D.
  3. Click the Security tab.

    – or –

  4. Click the Security lock lock-gold icon located on the right end of the Navigation Bar.

The lock icon will either be closed, yellow or red in color, if Security is defined.

Once the Security tab opens, check to see if Changing the Document and Adding Markups is allowed. If they’re not, you’ll need to contact the person who’d created the PDF to get a copy that doesn’t have Security defined, or the password to change the Security settings.
