Problem

When creating new PDFs, documents have incorrect dimensions or orientation.

Solution

This can be resolved by removing any duplicate entries from the index or creating an appropriate entry for the page size needed.

  1. Select Start and enter Bluebeam Administrator in the search bar.
  2. Right-click Bluebeam Administrator and select Run as Administrator.
  3. Select the Printer tab.
  4. Select Manage Pages.
  5. In the Printer Manager dialog, delete any page sizes defined as Unknown and/or pages with identical or reversed dimensions to the default page sizes (i.e., ANSI, BIND, ISO, Letter, Legal, etc.).
  6. Select the duplicate name in the list and click Delete to remove it.
Standard page sizes such as Letter, Tabloid, and Ledger can’t be deleted or changed because they are used by all printers on the computer.
  7. When finished, select OK.

In the event that a page size you need doesn’t exist, a new one can be created.

  1. In the Printer Page Manager window, select Add to create a new page size.
  2. Enter the Form Name and Paper Size, select the Units, and click OK.
  3. Select OK again to close the Printer Page Manager dialog.
  4. When finished, select Apply.

If the AutoCAD plugin is enabled, you must rebuild the AutoCAD Page Sizes after changing or adding page sizes. To do this:

  1. Close AutoCAD if it’s open.
  2. Select the AutoCAD Page Sizes tab.
  3. Select Clear and Rebuild to rebuild the AutoCAD page sizes.
  4. Once the list has been updated, select OK.

Problem

Occasionally, PDF files are created with the wrong orientation or dimensions. This is usually due to multiple entries existing within the Bluebeam PDF printer’s index of page sizes. When multiple page sizes with the same dimension are present, the Bluebeam PDF printer may not know which instance to utilize.

Solution

This behavior is easily remedied by removing any duplicate entries from the index, or creating an appropriate entry for the page size needed.

  1. Select Start and type Bluebeam Administrator.
  2. Right-click on Bluebeam Administrator and select Run as Administrator.
  3. Click the Printer tab.
  4. Click the Manage Pages button in the Printer section.
  5. Delete any page sizes defined as “Unknown” or those that have identical or reversed dimensions as the default (i.e., ANSI, BIND, ISO, Letter, Legal, etc.).
  6. Select the duplicate name in the list and click the Delete button to remove it.
  7. Click Apply when finished.

In the event that a desired page size does not exist, a new one can be created.

  1. In the Printer Page Manager window, click the Add button to create a new page size.
  2. Type the Form Name and Paper Size, select the Units and click OK.
    admin-add-custom-size
  3. Click OK again to close the Printer Page Manager dialog.
  4. Click the Apply button when finished.

Rebuild the AutoCAD Page Sizes after changing or adding page sizes.

  1. Close AutoCAD, if it’s opened.
  2. Click the AutoCAD Page Sizes tab.
  3. Click the Clear and then Rebuild buttons to rebuild the AutoCAD page sizes.
  4. Click the OK button once the list has been updated.

PDF files should now be created on the correct page size with the correct orientation.

Standard page sizes, like Letter, Tabloid, Ledger, cannot be deleted or changed because they are used by all printers on the computer.
