Problem

Pages rotate at random when printing from Revit to the Bluebeam PDF Printer.

Cause

As printed sheets begin to open in Revu, Revu temporarily becomes the active printer application. This changes the document’s orientation settings and causes it to rotate.

Solution

To access and use Bluebeam plugins with Revu 21, you must have a Core or Complete subscription plan. Visit the section that corresponds to your subscription access for a workaround.

Core or Complete

Printing via the Bluebeam plugin resolves the issue. Begin by opening the Bluebeam Administrator to ensure the Bluebeam plugin is enabled:

  1. Close Revit.
  2. Click Start and type Bluebeam Administrator 21.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Go to the Plugins tab and select the appropriate checkbox for your software.
  5. Click OK.

Next, print your PDF via the Bluebeam plugin:

  1. Open Revit.
  2. Go to the Add-Ins tab.
  3. Under the Bluebeam Add-Ins panel, click Create PDF. The Save As dialog box appears.
  4. Name the file and save it to your desired location.
  5. Click Save. Revu opens displaying your newly generated PDF.

Basics

Clearing the Open in Viewer printer option resolves the issue. To do this:

  1. Perform one of the following actions to open the Bluebeam Administrator
    • In Revu, go to Revu > Administrator.
    • Click Start and type Bluebeam Administrator 21 and press Enter.
  2. Go to the Printer tab and clear the Open In Viewer checkbox.
  3. Click OK.

Your pages should no longer rotate when printing to the Bluebeam PDF Printer.
