Fatal error when opening Revu

Problem

A fatal error message appears when launching Revu and the program doesn’t open.

Solution

This fatal error can occur for a variety of reasons. To help determine the cause, follow these steps to submit your log files to Bluebeam and create a support case:

  1. Open File Explorer (Win+E).
  2. In the address bar, paste C:\Users\<your username here>\AppData\Local\Bluebeam\Revu\2019\Logs and replace the username.
    If you don’t see the logs folder, the AppData folder may be hidden. For instructions on how to display hidden files, please see this article.
  3. Press Ctrl+A to select all Revu logs.
  4. Right-click and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. This creates a .zip folder with your Revu logs.
  5. Manually attach the Logs.zip file to an email addressed to support@bluebeam.com.
  6. In the email body, include as much information as possible about the issue along with your contact information, then click Send.
    This sends the email to Bluebeam Technical Support, and creates a support case.

Problem

  2. Right-click on Bluebeam Administrator and select Run as Administrator.
  3. Go to the Revu tab, and click E-mail Logs to Support.

    An email opens with a .zip file containing the Revu log files.

  4. Include as much information as possible about the issue along with your contact information in the body of the email, and click Send. This sends the email to Bluebeam Technical Support, and creates a support case.
If the email doesn’t open, please click Explore Log Folder in the Revu tab, and manually attach the Logs.zip file to an email addressed to support@bluebeam.com. In your email, include as much information as possible about the issue, as well as your contact details.
