Custom settings, stamps, profiles, and tool sets are retained when you update Revu. When the new version of Revu is installed, your settings and files will be automatically copied to the appropriate locations.
How to update within Revu
The quickest and easiest way is to update within the in-app installer. Revu will verify the build and version you have installed and quickly guide you through the installation process.
- Open Revu.
- Go to Help > Check for Updates. If updates are available, the Update Review dialog box appears containing release notes for the latest version.
- Click Download. After the download completes, the Ready to Update dialog box appears.
- Click Install and follow the on-screen prompts to save your work or to close any running applications (if necessary).
- The InstallShield dialog box then appears. Click Install.
- After the installation completes, click Finish.
Your copy of Revu is now up-to-date.
Direct downloads of the update file
To manually update Revu, visit the Download Center and choose the update file specific to your version of Revu.
We encourage you to update using Check for Updates (as shown above) whenever possible to ensure that the update file always matches your version of Revu.
How to install Revu for the first time
If you’re installing Revu for the first time, download a full installation of Revu from the Download Center. Be sure to download the version of Revu matching what’s listed on your license certificate. Revu 2017 streamlines the update process by using a much smaller file instead of the full installation. The update is 92% smaller than the full installation, greatly reducing the amount of time needed to update your software.

The quickest and easiest way to download the correct file is to click Help > Product Updates inside Revu. This will look at what you have installed and display a link to the correct file to download.
- Open Revu.
- Click Help > Product Updates

- Click Save and choose a convenient location to save the update.
- Once the download has finished, close Revu.
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the location you saved the update file and open the file.
- Follow the instructions to install the update.

Can I still directly download the file?
Yes, you still have the option of directly downloading the files, but we encourage you to update using Product Updates in Revu to ensure that you get the correct file. What you need depends on the installed version of Revu.

- If you have Revu 2016 or earlier, you need the full installation.
