You can rotate a page by using either Rotate View or Rotate Pages. Rotate View temporarily changes your current view of the PDF, while Rotate Pages permanently changes the orientation of your document.

Rotate View

Rotate View temporarily changes the way the PDF is displayed in Revu without altering the content of the PDF, meaning that although the page and any existing markups will appear rotated, a new “top” of the page isn’t defined. In other words, if you rotate the PDF view clockwise by 90 degrees, the “top” edge of the page will be rotated to the right.

This means that when new markups are placed, they will appear to rotate as they match the new page orientation.

  • Go to View > Rotate View and then choose either Rotate Clockwise (Ctrl+Shift+Plus) or Rotate Counterclockwise (Ctrl+Shift+Minus).

Rotate Pages

Rotate Pages permanently rotates the page and defines a new “top” of the page. This also rotates existing markups, however new markups are aligned with the new “top” of the page.

  • Go to Document > Rotate Pages (Ctrl+Shift+R).

There are two ways to rotate a page. Although the end results look identical, their effect on the orientation of your markups is very different.

Rotate View temporarily changes the way the PDF is displayed in Revu, but doesn’t alter the PDF content. This means that although the page and any existing markups will appear rotated, a new “top” of the page doesn’t get defined. In other words, if you rotate the PDF view clockwise by 90 degrees, the “top” edge of the page will be rotated to the right.

This means that although your existing markups will also rotate, new markups will ‘jump’ after placement, to match the orientation of the original markups.

  • On the View menu, click Rotate View rotate-view-32x32.

Rotate Pages permanently rotates the page and defines a new “top” of the page. This also rotates existing markups, however new markups are aligned with the new “top” of the page.

  • On the Document menu, click Rotate Pages rotate-pages.

There are also keyboard shortcuts for each of these functions:

Rotate View:
  • Clockwise rotate-cw: Ctrl+Shift+Plus
  • Counterclockwise rotate-ccw: Ctrl+Shift+Minus
Rotate Pages rotate-pages:
  • Ctrl+Shift+R
A list of Revu keyboard shortcuts is available in the Revu Help menu and on our website.
