The Bluebeam plugin does not appear in my application

This article applies to:

  • Revu 21 & Below

The Bluebeam plugin does not appear in the ribbon or toolbar of your Microsoft Office or CAD application.

Solution

Be sure the Bluebeam plugin is installed in the desired application. You can install the Bluebeam plugin in the following applications:

  • AutoCAD and verticals built on top of AutoCAD like Architecture and Mechanical.
  • AutoCAD LT (AutoCAD LT doesn’t utilize all features of the Bluebeam plugin. You won’t have access to any of the batch options available in AutoCAD).
  • Autodesk Revit.
  • Autodesk Navisworks Manage and Navisworks Simulate.
  • SolidWorks.
  • SketchUp Pro.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook).

First, check the Compatibility Chart to see if your version of the Bluebeam plugin supports the application you’re attempting to integrate.

You must have a Core or Complete plan for Revu 21 (or a CAD or eXtreme edition license for Revu 20 and below) to use the AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, SketchUp and SolidWorks plugins.

Enable or reset the plugin from Bluebeam Administrator

To enable the plugin:

  1. Exit the CAD application.
  2. To start Bluebeam Administrator, open the Start menu in Windows and enter Bluebeam Administrator.
  3. Under the Plugins tab, select the application whose plugin you want to enable.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Restart the CAD application.

If plugin is already enabled in Bluebeam Administrator, follow these steps to reset the plugin:

  1. In Bluebeam Administrator, clear the checkbox for the affected application and select Apply.
  2. Open the application to confirm that the plugin isn’t visible.
  3. Close the application.
  4. Return to Bluebeam Administrator and select the desired plugin.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Reopen the application.

Enable the plugin from Microsoft Office (2010 and above)

If the plugin still doesn’t appear in Microsoft Office, it may be disabled within the application.

  1. In the desired Microsoft Office application, like Word or Excel, Go to File > Options.
  2. Select Add-Ins in the left column.
  3. In the Manage dropdown, select COM Add-ins, and click Go.
  4. Select BluebeamOfficeAddIn check box, and click OK.
