Relevant Products

Bluebeam Revu 2019 CAD and eXtreme

Problem

TrueType fonts are clipped at edge of a sheet or viewport – usually the bottom and left sides – when the PDF is created using the Bluebeam printer driver in AutoCAD®.

Solution

You can resolve the problem using any of the following options.

  1. Use Post Processing when creating a PDF:
    1. In the Save As window, check the Enable check box in the Post Processing section.
    2. Click the Manage button.
    3. Check the Remove Text Clipping check box, and then click OK.
  2. Use Repair Page Content on a PDF that has already been created:
    1. Open the PDF in Revu.
    2. Go to Document > Repair PDF.
    3. Check the Remove Text Clipping check box, and then click OK.
  3. In AutoCAD, change the margins that are defined in the page size. AutoCAD places a default margin of 1/8″ on all four sides of the drawings.
    1. Change the margins to 0 inch (or 0mm) for all four borders.
    2. Click here for details on changing the printable page size.
  4. Change the plugin to use the Heidi driver. The Heidi driver converts TrueType text as geometry and the clipping does not occur. To use the Heidi driver:
    1. Exit AutoCAD.
    2. In Revu, go to Revu > Administrator .
    3. Once the Administrator starts, click the AutoCAD Page Sizes tab.
    4. Select Heidi or Printer Driver in the drop-down list.
    5. Click OK to exit the Administrator.
    6. Restart AutoCAD. The changes will be applied after AutoCAD is restarted.
Note: TrueType text will not be searchable in the PDF when the Heidi driver is used because the TrueType fonts in the drawing will be exported as vector line segments and not searchable text. Click here to find out more information about the different types elements in a PDF file.
