The Camera tool uses your device’s built-in or attached camera or webcam to create Image markups. Markups created using the Camera tool are placed on the PDF like an Image markup. The Camera tool can only be used to take photos. To embed photos or video directly in existing markups, see Capture.
To take a photo using the device’s built-in or attached camera or webcam:
The photo will be automatically placed into the current page of the document as an Image markup. This markup can be moved and resized as needed.
The Camera tool can cycle between multiple cameras for Tablet PCs or computers that have multiple cameras built-in or attached.
You can switch cameras from the Camera preview window before taking your photo. To do so, click the Switch button on the Camera preview window. This button will only appear if multiple cameras are available.
The last camera selection will be recalled the next time the Camera tool is activated.
When rotating devices, such as Tablet PCs, the camera should rotate accordingly.
If, however, the rotation of the camera’s image is opposite the device’s rotation, correct it by doing the following:
Lowering the resolution settings can be useful when several photos will be placed on a single document and document file size is a concern.
To change resolution settings:
See the Camera Preferences topic for details on these settings.
