Line styles determine the appearance of the lines used to describe many line or shape markups. Revu comes preloaded with several default line styles and a line style editor allowing users to create their own line styles. Line styles are collected in sets for easy organization and can contain multiple lines, text and vector content. After a new line style is created, it will appear in the Style lists in both the Line Style toolbar and the Properties tab.
Line style sets hold related line styles in order to make them easier to find when choosing a line style for a markup. Line style sets can be exported, much like Hatch Patterns or Tool Sets, and shared on a network drive or imported by another Revu user.
Line styles and line style sets are managed with the Manage Line Style Sets dialog box. This procedure creates a blank PDF and a line markup in order to access it, but it's just one of many ways to get to it, including from the Properties tab of an existing line or shape markup, or from the Line Style toolbar.
To create a new line style set:
On the Properties tab, select Manage from the Style menu.
The Manage Line Style Sets dialog box appears.
Click Add. The Add Line Style Set dialog box appears.
Click OK. The Edit Line Style Set dialog box appears.
Line styles define the appearance of lines used in most line and shape markups as well as many others. Revu comes with several different line styles, but if desired, you can create a variety of custom styles to suit nearly any need.

Existing custom line styles can be modified to meet current needs. Changing a line style has no effect on markups that have already been created using the line style.

Line style sets can be imported and exported, much like Hatch Patterns or Tool Sets. Imported line style sets are copies of existing line style sets intended for the use of the local user only. If the local user makes any changes to the line style set, nobody else is affected by the change. To access a shared line style set (one that is used by multiple users across a network), see Sharing a Line Style Set.

Shared line style sets are used my multiple Revu users collaboratively. The line style set remains in its original location and can be accessed by several users at once. If the line style set is changed (for example, if new line styles are added or existing line styles are modified), each user is affected by those changes. Users attempting to modify shared line style sets are subject to normal folder permissions on the shared file.
