Camera tool
Your device's built-in or attached camera or webcam can be used to create Image markups or embed photos or video directly in existing markups. This document discusses the former; to learn more about the latter, see Embedded Markup Media.
To take a photo using the device's built-in or attached camera or webcam, follow these steps:
-
Go to Tools > Markup > Image >
From Camera or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+I. A Camera preview window appears showing the current view from the device's primary camera. - Select
Shutter to take a picture. - Select Use to place the photo onto the document or Retake to try again.
The photo will be placed into the current page of the document as an Image markup. This markup can be moved and resized as needed.
The Camera tool can cycle between multiple cameras for Tablet PCs or computers that have multiple cameras built-in or attached.
To switch cameras from the Camera preview window before taking your photo, select
Switch on the Camera preview window. This button appears if multiple cameras are available.
The last camera selection will be recalled the next time the Camera tool is activated.
When rotating devices, such as Tablet PCs, the camera should rotate accordingly.
If, however, the rotation of the camera's image is opposite the device's rotation, correct it by doing the following:
- Go to Revu > Preferences > Import/Export > Images to view camera preferences.
- From the Camera Portrait Orientation drop-down list, select Inverted.
- Select OK.
Lowering the resolution settings can be useful when several photos will be placed on a single document and document file size is a concern.
- Go to Revu > Preferences > Import/Export > Images to view camera preferences.
- From the Photo Resolution drop-down list, select Low, Medium or High as desired.
- Select OK.
