Get started with Bluebeam on mobile

Overview

Bluebeam on mobile allows you to join and collaborate in Studio Sessions and Studio Projects from your mobile device. As a Project host or attendee, you can browse folders, view revisions, and download drawings. As a Sessions attendee, you can view the latest drawing updates and markups from other collaborators, create and edit your own markups, add comments, or reply to threads.

Install Bluebeam on mobile

To download and install Bluebeam on an iOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the App Store on your Apple device.

  2. Search for "Bluebeam."

  3. Download and install "Bluebeam Cloud."

  4. Open the app and sign in with your Bluebeam ID (BBID).

To download and install Bluebeam on an Android device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Play Store on your Android device.

  2. Search for "Bluebeam."

  3. Download and install "Bluebeam."

  4. Open the app and sign in with your BBID.

Navigate the app

After you sign in with your BBID, select one of the following:

  • Projects: View a list of Studio Projects you've created or have been invited to.

  • Sessions: View a list of Sessions you've created or have been invited to.

  • Device: View a list of files stored locally on your device.

Once you select a Project or Session, you can view and navigate through all documents uploaded to that Project or Session.

Access your files

To open a Studio Projects file, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Projects from the bottom navigation.

  2. Tap the Project you want to open.

  3. Locate and select a file to open it in the PDF viewer.

  4. In the PDF viewer, select the menu icon to view options for the file.

    • Pages: Lists all pages in a file.

    • Bookmarks: View list of bookmarks embedded in the file.

    • Check Out: Allows you to make markup edits, add comments, or update statuses.

    • Revision History: View previous edits made to the file.

    • Export: Share or save the file locally.

To open a Sessions file, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Sessions from the bottom navigation.

  2. Tap the Sessions you want to open.

  3. Locate and select a file to open it in the Markup Editor.

To open a local file, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Device from the bottom navigation.

  2. Tap the file you want to open.

To quickly switch between recent files, tap the file name then tap the file you want to switch to.

Access Studio Projects offline

You can work with and check in Project files while offline, and any changes you make will be in pending status. When you're back online, these changes will auto-sync and clear the pending status. While online, you can designate entire Projects, specific folders, or individual files for offline use.

Make files available offline

To make a Project, folder, or file available offline, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Project, folder, or file in the Bluebeam app.

  2. Long press to select it.

  3. Tap Make Available Offline at the bottom of your screen.

The file will be downloaded to your device, and an offline icon will appear under the file name in theProjects tab. Any revisions made to the file will sync during frequent checks while you're using the Bluebeam app and during nightly checks.

If your device doesn't have enough storage, the download won't complete. Free up storage and try again.

Remove offline files

To remove an offline Project, folder, or file, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the offline Project, folder, or file in the Bluebeam app.

  2. Long press to select it.

  3. Tap Remove from Offline from the bottom of the screen.

Access Sessions offline

You can work with Sessions documents even with limited or no internet connection. Any document you've previously opened will be accessible offline.

Before going offline, open any documents you’ll need. Unopened documents are grayed out and unavailable until you’re back online.

While offline, you can view and add markups to your opened documents. When you reconnect to the internet, all your changes will automatically update in the Sessions.

The Pending Updates panel shows you which markups haven't yet synced to the Sessions. To view these markups, select Pending Updates next to the document title.

Project file check out and check in

To check out a Project file, follow these steps:

  1. Locate and open the file.

  2. Tap the menu icon.

  3. Tap Check Out.

Only users with an active Bluebeam subscription plan can check out files and change markups. Learn how to create and edit markups on an iOS or Android device.

To check in a Project file, follow these steps:

  1. Locate and open the checked out file.

  2. Tap the menu icon.

  3. Tap Check In.

Documents that are already checked out will have alock icon next to the title and will be in read-only mode.
