Use Studio Sessions on iOS and Android

Applies to:

  • Bluebeam on an iOS device
  • Bluebeam on an Android device

Bluebeam app allows you to join and collaborate in Studio Sessions from your iOS or Android device. As a Session attendee on mobile, you can view the latest drawing updates and markups from other collaborators, create and edit your own markups, add comments, or reply to threads.

Access Sessions

After you sign in with your Bluebeam ID, tap Studio Sessions. You'll see a list of any active Sessions you've created or have been invited to.

Since Session creation is not supported on iOS or Android, you need to first create new Sessions from Revu or Bluebeam on web.

Once you select a Session, you can view and navigate through all documents that were uploaded to that Session. Navigate to other documents in the PDF editor by

While you can view all markups from other collaborators, you cannot manage attendees or adjust their permissions. Use Revu to manage your Session.

Join Sessions using a Session ID on iOS

To join a Session using a Session ID, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Sessions from the bottom navigation.

  2. In the top-right corner, tap Join.

  3. Input the Session ID then tap Join.

The new Session will be added to your list of Sessions you've created or been invited to.

You can only join Sessions using Studio IDs that are unrestricted by email.

Access Sessions offline

You can work with Sessions documents even with limited or no internet connection. Any document you've previously opened will be accessible offline.

Before going offline, open any documents you’ll need. Unopened documents are grayed out and unavailable until you’re back online.

While offline, you can view and add markups to your opened documents. When you reconnect to the internet, all your changes will automatically update in the Sessions.

The Pending Updates panel shows you which markups haven't yet synced to the Sessions. To view these markups, select Pending Updates next to the document title.

Filter your Sessions list on iOS

To filter your Sessions list, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Search field above the bottom navigation.

  2. Enter any keyword(s) for the Session you want to find. The search results will populate as you type.

  3. Tap a result to open the Session folder.

Sort your Sessions list on iOS

To sort your Sessions list, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the sort label at the top of the Sessions list.

  2. Tap one of the sorting criteria:

    • Name

    • Creation Date

    • Updated

    • Opened

To reverse the sorting order, tap the sort label and tap the active sorting criteria again.

Access bookmarks in a PDF on iOS

Access bookmarks embedded in a PDF to quickly navigate to specific sections. To navigate using bookmarks, follow these steps:

  1. Open a PDF containing bookmarks.

  2. Tap the menu icon, then tap Bookmarks.

  3. Tap a bookmark to jump to that section.

To expand a nested bookmark, tap the arrow next to it, then tap the bookmark you want.

Upload or delete Session files on iOS

To upload files to a Session, follow these steps:

Only Session owners, admins, or collaborators with read and write permission can upload or delete files. These features aren't available offline.
  1. Open the Session.

  2. Tap the action icon.

  3. Tap the files you want to upload, then tap Open.

  4. To cancel a single upload, tap the cancel icon next to the file name.

  5. To cancel multiple uploads, tap Cancel All > Cancel Uploads.

To delete multiple files from a Session, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Session.

  2. Tap and hold the file name until checkboxes appears next to each file in the folder.

  3. Tap each file you want to delete, then tap Delete.

  4. When prompted, tap Delete again to confirm.

To delete a single file, swipe left on the file name, then tap Delete.

Mark up drawings

Within an active Session, tap a document to open it. Tap the plus button to access markup and measurement tools. You can create new markups or measurements, and edit or delete any markups or measurements originally created in Revu or Bluebeam on web.

Comment on a markup

To comment on a markup in iOS, select a markup, and under the Comments tab, tap Leave a comment.

To comment on a markup in Android, select a markup, and under the Comments tab, tap Comment.
