Revu can be configured to connect to multiple Studio servers, though users may only have one account on a Studio server at a time. Users who have never connected to Studio or users who need to connect to a Session or Project being housed on a new Studio server might need to configure a connection to the appropriate Studio server in Revu.

This procedure is intended for users who are hosting their own Studio servers. To add Bluebeam's open Studio Server, see Create a Bluebeam Studio Server Account.

To add a new Studio server:

1. Go to View > Tabs > Studio or press ALT+C to access the Studio tab.
2. Click Settings on the Studio tab. The Preferences dialog box opens to the Studio preferences.

3. Click Manage Servers. The Server Profiles dialog box appears.

   

4. Click. The Create New Server dialog box appears.

   

5. Enter the URL of the Studio sever in the Studio Server field.
6. If you already have a Studio account on this server and would like Revu to use it to log in automatically, enter its credentials in the available fields (if you do not have a Studio account on this server, you can still enter credentials for one now, but you will need to create a Studio account on the server using the same credentials before you can use it to log into Studio; see Creating a New Studio Account below to do this):
   1. Enter your email address in the Email field.
   2. If you would like Revu to remember your password for you, select Remember password and enter it in the Password field.

   Note: You do not need to save your password here. If you do not, you will be prompted for it anytime you log into Studio.

7. Click OK.

Before you can log into Studio, you must create an account on your Studio server. This procedure assumes that the Studio server has already been configured in Revu; if this is not the case, do that first.

To create a new Studio account:

1. Go to View > Tabs > Studio or press ALT+C to access the Studio tab.

2. Click Connect. The Login dialog box appears.

   

   If the icon shows that you are currently connected to a Studio server (), click the arrow to its right and select Switch User to bring up the Login dialog box.

3. Select the Studio server on which you would like to create an account from the Studio Server menu.

4. Click Create Account. The Create Studio Account dialog box appears.

   

5. Enter your email address in the E-mail field.
6. Enter a password for this Studio account in the Password field.
7. Reenter the password in the Confirm field.
8. If you would like Revu to remember this password and log you into Studio automatically, select Remember Password.
9. If you would like to change the way your name is shown when you are logged into Studio, change it in the Name field.
10. Click OK.
    

You will receive a verification email after you create the account. Follow the instructions in this email in order to complete the validation process. You must validate the email address or you will not be able to continue using the account.

You can only have one account on a given Studio server at a time, but the details for an account can be changed as needed. Some fields (Name and Password) can only be changed while you are logged into the account, while others (Server URL and Email) cannot be changed for the primary/default Studio server account (switch to a different server before editing those fields).

To manage an existing account:

1. Go to View > Tabs > Studio or press ALT+C to access the Studio tab.
2. Click Settings on the Studio tab. The Preferences dialog box opens to the Studio preferences.

3. Click Manage Servers. The Server Profiles dialog box appears.

   

4. Select the desired account and click. The Edit Server dialog box appears.

   

5. Edit any of the information shown as needed. Be aware of the following:
   • You must be logged into the account to change the name and password. In order to change your password, click Change Password; the password cannot be changed directly from this dialog box.
   • The server name and email address for the primary/default Studio server cannot be changed. To edit these fields, switch to a different server first.
6. Click OK.

In addition to changing account settings, you can sort Studio accounts to control the order in which they appear on the Studio tab.

1. Go to View > Tabs > Studio or press ALT+C to access the Studio tab.
2. Click Settings on the Studio tab. The Preferences dialog box opens to the Studio preferences.

3. Click Manage Servers. The Server Profiles dialog box appears.

   

4. To change an account's settings, see Editing Existing Accounts.
5. To auto-sort Studio server accounts, click and select a sort option:
   • by Server sorts by server name.
   • by Email sorts by email address.
6. To manually sort Studio server accounts, select an account and click to move the account up in the list or to move it down in the list.
7. To delete a Studio server account, select the account and click .
