Create a Bluebeam Studio Server Account

You need to create a Studio account before you can log into Studio to access a Session or Project. This workflow assumes that you intend to use Bluebeam's open Studio server and need to configure your copy of Revu to connect to it. If you have already configured Revu to connect to Bluebeam's open Studio server, or if your company is running its own Studio server, you will need to create an account on it instead (see Create a Studio Account). Otherwise, the procedure below will walk you through configuring Revu to use Bluebeam's open Studio server and creating an account on it.

Bluebeam maintains an open Studio Server for its customers to use for Studio Sessions and Projects. Any Revu or Vu user can use it for their Sessions and Projects, but first they must configure their copy of Revu to connect to it.

To configure Revu to connect to Bluebeam's Studio server:

  1. Go to View > Tabs > Studio or press ALT+C to access the Studio tab.
  2. Click Settings on the Studio tab. The Preferences dialog box opens to the Studio preferences.

  3. Click Manage Servers. The Server Profiles dialog box appears.

  4. Click. The Create New Server dialog box appears.

  1. Enter "studio.bluebeam.com" in the Server field.
  2. If you already have a Studio account on this server (for example, if you are configuring a new install of Revu, but have accessed the Bluebeam Studio server before) and would like Revu to automatically log in with that account, enter its credentials here:
    1. Enter your email address in the Domain / E-mail field.
    2. Select Remember Password.
    3. Enter a password for this account in the Password field.

    Note: You do not need to save your password here. If you do not, you will be prompted for it anytime you log into Studio.

  3. Click OK.

Once Revu has been configured to connect to the Studio server, you can create a Studio account that you can use to log into Studio Sessions and Projects.

To create a new Studio account:

  1. Go to View > Tabs > Studio or press ALT+C to access the Studio tab.

  2. Click Connect. The Login dialog box appears.

    If the icon shows that you are currently connected to a Studio server (), click the arrow to its right and select Switch User to bring up the Login dialog box.

  3. Select the Studio server on which you would like to create an account from the Studio Server menu.

  4. Click Create Account. The Create Studio Account dialog box appears.

  5. Enter your email address in the E-mail field.
  6. Enter a password for this Studio account in the Password field.
  7. Reenter the password in the Confirm field.
  8. If you would like Revu to remember this password and log you into Studio automatically, select Remember Password.
  9. If you would like to change the way your name is shown when you are logged into Studio, change it in the Name field.
  10. Click OK.

You will receive a verification email after you create the account. Follow the instructions in this email in order to complete the validation process. You must validate the email address or you will not be able to continue using the account.
