Customize Revu keyboard shortcuts
Applies to:
- Revu 21
Use keyboard shortcuts to easily access certain tools and features in Revu. Customize your workspace by editing default shortcuts or exporting and importing your own custom shortcuts.
View or edit keyboard shortcuts
- Go to Revu > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- To generate a list of keyboard shortcuts, select Export > List as .txt.
- Select Tools or Commands from the top of the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box.
- Select a Function and enter the new keyboard shortcut for it in the Shortcut field, and select Reassign.
If the shortcut is already taken or assigned, a message will appear asking whether you'd like to reassign the existing key or change the input for your custom shortcut.
If you input a numerical shortcut, Revu will alert you that it's already reserved. This is because numbers are used as hot keys for anything saved in My Tools in the Tool Chest.
- After assigning your new shortcuts, select OK.
Select Restore Defaults to revert to the original keyboard shortcuts.
Export or import a keyboard shortcut file
To transfer your custom keyboard shortcuts to another computer or share them with another Revu user, you can export and import them. Keyboard shortcuts are saved in an XML file and can only be imported in this format.
To export a keyboard shortcut file, follow these steps:
- Go to Revu > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Select Export > Settings, and save the XML file to a local or network location you can easily access.
To import a keyboard shortcut file, follow these steps:
- Go to Revu > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Select Import and navigate to your XML file.
- Select Open.
- Select OK in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box.
