Error: "The number of authorized installations for this license key has been exceeded"

Applies to:

  • Revu 20

Problem

You receive the following error when attempting to register Revu on another computer:

"The number of authorized installations for this license key has been exceeded. Please unregister the software from another computer first and then try again."

Solution

If you have exceeded the number of registered seats allowed on your license, you can resolve this issue by unregistering your previous device. On your previous device, open Revu and go to Revu > Unregister. This will release the seat and allow you to register a new device immediately.

The ability to release and reassign seats between computers using our legacy licensing system is being phased out. After the dates listed below, legacy versions will be removed from our support site and will no longer be available for download. If you need a copy for archival, please download it before the date listed below or contact us afterward for a direct download link along with a copy of your original license certificate. After these dates, you'll no longer be able to reassign or transfer legacy licenses between computers.

  • Revu 2015 and earlier: May 12, 2026

  • Revu 2016–2019: June 23, 2026

  • Revu 20: July 31, 2026

Licenses already activated will continue to work on the computers they are installed on. After the dates above, those licenses cannot be transferred to a new or replacement computer. If you replace or upgrade hardware, you'll need a Bluebeam subscription plan to continue using Revu.

For more information, see Bluebeam End of Life (EOL) Support.
