Measurement markups aren't created

Problem

You've attempted to use a measurement tool on a document but nothing happens.

Solution

Open the Measurements (Alt+U) panel, select on the Measurements drop-down, and make sure Make Annotation is selected.

If this box is already checked, then your PDF may have security restrictions enabled. The creator of the PDF file can define security that restricts adding annotations or markups to the PDF.

  1. Open the PDF file in Revu.
  2. Select Document > Document Properties (Ctrl+D)
  3. Select the Security tab.
The lock icon will be closed if security is defined and open if there is no security.

Once the Security tab opens, check to see if Changing the Document and Adding Markups are allowed. If they're not, contact the person who created the PDF to either get a copy of the file that doesn't have security defined or have them give you the password to change the security settings.
