Measurement markups aren't created

Problem

You've attempted to use a measurement tool on a document but nothing happens.

Solution

First, open the Measurements (Alt+U) panel, click on the Measurements drop-down, and make sure the Make Annotation box is checked.

If this box is already checked, then your PDF may have security restrictions enabled. The creator of the PDF file can define security that restricts adding annotations or markups to the PDF.

  1. Open the PDF file in Revu.
  2. Click Document > Document Properties (Ctrl+D)
  3. Click the Security tab.
The lock icon will be closed if security is defined and open if there is no security.

Once the Security tab opens, check to see if Changing the Document and Adding Markups are allowed. If they're not, you'll need to contact the person who created the PDF to either get a copy of the file that doesn't have security defined, or have them give you the password to change the security settings.
