Changing your Bluebeam Studio region

This article applies to:

  • Revu 20
  • Revu 2019

Bluebeam Studio is hosted in several instances around the world. If you’re outside of the United States, you may notice an increase in upload and download speeds by choosing an instance of Studio in a region closer to you. Each Studio instance is completely independent and no user data or accounts are shared between them, which means that anyone that you’d like to collaborate with must be connected to the same Studio instance as you. Each region adheres to different local regulations and requirements, listed in the FAQs below.

How do I select my Studio region?

You can change your Studio region in Revu 2019 and later. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a Bluebeam ID (BBID) that’s specific to the Studio region you’d like to use.

In Revu 20:

  1. Open the Studio panel (Alt+C).
  2. Click the flag icon and then click your desired Studio region.
  3. The Studio sign-in dialog opens. Enter your BBID for the Studio region you chose and click Sign In.

In Revu 2019:

  1. On the Studio (Alt+C) panel, click the flag icon and then click Manage Servers .
  2. Click Add, and then enter one of the URLs listed below.
  3. Click OK.

The new Studio region should appear in your list.

What security protocols does Studio adhere to?

Bluebeam regards the security of our customer data as one of our highest priorities. We have stringent internal access controls to our Studio platform infrastructure environment, using leading practices around multi-factor authentication and identity access management. We also ensure proper logging of access, change control management, and perform regular vulnerability assessments. More information can be found in our Studio security guide.

How do I invite a user to a Session or Project who uses an account in another Studio region?

Invite them as you would any other user. They’ll need to make a new BBID for the Studio region where the Session or Project resides.

How can I recover a deleted Session or Session document on another Studio region?
Will my account in a non-US Studio region work with the Bluebeam Gateway?

The Gateway is only compatible with US-based accounts. Gateway admins will need to continue using their US-based BBID account to manage licenses through the Bluebeam Gateway.

Do non-US Studio regions offer an API, or provide access to Studio Prime?

Studio Prime and API access are only available from the US Studio region.
