Use the Bluebeam Administrator to manage plugins for side-by-side installations

This article applies to:

  • Revu 20

Choosing the side-by-side option during the Revu installation process allows you to install a trial of Revu while keeping your existing Revu installation. Using the Bluebeam Administrator, you can also choose which version's plugins you want to activate.

Be aware that a side-by-side installation is only possible with Revu software two generations prior to the one you are installing. For example, if you are installing Revu 20, you will only be able to keep either Revu 2019 or 2018 alongside it. If you have Revu 2017 or older installed on your computer, and you attempt to install Revu 20, the older instance of Revu will be upgraded/overwritten.

Plugins tab

To access your plugins, first open the Bluebeam Administrator by clicking Start > Bluebeam Software > Bluebeam Administrator 20.

The Plugins tab includes plugins from both installations so you can switch between them if needed.

To switch between plugin versions:

All plugin activations and deactivations must be done in the newer version of the Bluebeam Administrator.
  1. Close the application that the plugin will appear in (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  2. Open the Start menu and type Bluebeam Administrator.
  3. Right-click on the current version of Bluebeam Administrator and select Run as Administrator.
  4. Uncheck the current plugin, check the desired plugin and click OK.
