Task Link FAQs

Getting started and licensing
Task Link is an integration between Bluebeam and GoCanvas that allows you to use GoCanvas forms to assign tasks to your field teams directly from Revu markups. Use Task Link to centralize task management and manage field data in real time, all within Revu.
Yes. While the Task Link panel will be accessible to all Revu 21.8 users, you must have an active GoCanvas subscription to use it. Task Link requires both a Bluebeam plan and a GoCanvas subscription to assign tasks to your field teams.
Task Link is available on every GoCanvas plan. They have also created an exclusive plan for Bluebeam customers who want to access Task Link. Learn more about this plan through GoCanvas.
Task Link requires Revu 21.8. Earlier versions of Revu don't include this integration.
Yes, Task Link is available on all Bluebeam plan levels. However, you still need to purchase a separate GoCanvas subscription to use the integration.
GoCanvas users who have API access can connect to Task Link. If your existing GoCanvas subscription does not include API access, reach out to your GoCanvas account manager.
Setup and first steps
Before you can create dispatches from Revu, you must have form templates ready in GoCanvas. Forms are the templates your field teams will fill out. You create these forms within the GoCanvas, not Revu. Once you create your forms, you must enable "Dispatch" on each form (a setting in GoCanvas). They'll become available for selection when you create a dispatch from a Revu markup.
To learn how to create forms, visit the GoCanvas help center page on form creation.
See our Task Link article to get started.
When you create a mobile form in GoCanvas that you want to use with Task Link, you must enable the "Dispatch" feature on that form. Doing so tells GoCanvas that the form can be assigned as a task from Revu. See the GoCanvas documentation on enabling Dispatch.
If the assignee dropdown menu is blank, it's likely that you haven't assigned the form to your team members. See the GoCanvas documentation on assigning a form to your users.
Tracking and organization
Only mobile forms can be scheduled and dispatched from Revu. Web forms can still be linked to a markup once they've been completed, which helps keep all your documentation connected in one place.
Yes. The PDF that contains the markup will be accessible to your field teams from the GoCanvas mobile app.
Revu PDFs exist wherever you've set them up (your local device, a Studio Project, or a document management system). GoCanvas forms and the submissions created from them are stored on GoCanvas servers. To learn more about where data is stored within GoCanvas, visit their Security & Infrastructure Overview.
Troubleshooting & Support
For questions about creating forms, configuring dispatches, managing GoCanvas users, or other GoCanvas-specific issues, contact GoCanvas support directly or consult their help center. Bluebeam support handles Task Link functionality within Revu itself.
