Use layer visibility
One of the principle advantages of using layers is the ability to toggle the visibility of specific layers, turning some off and others on, to create different views. This can be done by toggling layer visibility on the fly or by using layer configurations which can be easily recalled later.
There are several ways to toggle layer visibility. They are all available from the
Layers panel.
To show or hide a layer, select the box to the left of the layer's name to toggle its visibility. A layer with an
eye icon in the box is visible and a layer with an empty box is hidden.
To show or hide a parent layer and all its child layers at the same time, right-click the parent layer and select Show Layer. This toggles the show/hide setting of both the parent layer and all child layers.
To show only one layer, right-click the layer name and select Isolate. The selected layer and its children will be shown and all other layers will be hidden.
A layer configuration is a saved state in which some layers are visible and others are hidden. By saving such configurations, Revu makes it simple to switch from one to another without requiring you to toggle layer visibility over and over again.
All layered PDFs have a Default configuration that is automatically loaded when the PDF is opened. The Default configuration is initially set to show all layers but can be changed, if desired. Additional Configurations can be saved as well.
To switch from one configuration to another, select the desired configuration from the dropdown menu on the Layers panel toolbar. Configurations are listed in the order in which they were created.
