Problem
How do I create a black and white or monochrome PDF from AutoCAD using the Bluebeam plugin or the Bluebeam PDF printer?
Solution
AutoCAD's plot style tables (".ctb" and ".stb" files) define the line color and line weight when PDFs are created from AutoCAD drawings. Use the following instructions to create a black and white PDF.
Using the settings in the AutoCAD page setup through the Create PDF button of the plugin:
- Open the drawing in AutoCAD.
- Select the Layout tab you want to configure.
- Click File > Page Setup Manager > Modify.
- Select monochrome.ctb in the Plot style table list.
- Check the Plot with plot styles check box, and click OK.
- Click Create File to create the PDF file.
Using the Custom PDF Page Setup through the Change Settings button of the plugin:
- Open the drawing in AutoCAD.
- Click Change Settings, then the Page Setup tab.
- Select Custom or Global in the Page Setup list.
- Select monochrome.ctb in the Plot style table list, and then check the Plot with Plot Styles check box.
- Click Create File to create the PDF file.
Using the Bluebeam PDF printer:
- Open the drawing in AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT or Design Review.
- Select the Layout tab you want to plot.
- Click File > Plot, or File > Print > Plot.
- Select Bluebeam PDF in the Printer/plotter Name list.
- Select monochrome or Grayscale in the Plot style table list.
- Check the Plot with plot styles check box, and then click OK.
