Develop Integrations
By leveraging the Bluebeam Studio API and developer tools available through the Bluebeam Developer Portal, you can create private or public integrations that extend Bluebeam functionality, automate workflows, and enhance collaboration across platforms.
Whether you're developing custom plug-ins or connecting document storage solutions, this resource guides you through accessing APIs, managing authentication, and creating integrations to bring your solutions to Bluebeam users.
For detailed information on API endpoints and the latest updates to the Integrations platform, visit the API Docs section in the Developer Portal.

Customers
If you are a Bluebeam customer developing integrations, you must first provision Bluebeam subscriptions for your development team so they can register a Bluebeam ID (BBID) account if they haven't already. Then, request access to the Bluebeam Developer Portal.
We recommend creating a main developer account that your team can share for managing integration development and deployment. This centralized account simplifies app registration, credential management (Client ID and Secret), and API access.
Channel partners and software partners
If you are a Bluebeam partner, start by requesting access to the Bluebeam Developer Portal. Bluebeam will provide a Not-For-Resale (NFR) subscription that includes one partner subscription and up to four additional developer subscriptions.
We recommend setting up a main partner developer account along with up to four additional developer subscriptions to streamline integration development and deployment. This centralized setup simplifies managing your apps, credentials, and API access, enabling your team to efficiently build and launch Bluebeam Integrations.
Request access to the Bluebeam Developer Portal
Bluebeam customers, channel partners, and software developers can request access to the Bluebeam Developer Portal by completing the request form here. This form collects your contact details, information about your development team members who need portal access, and key integration details, such as whether your integration will be publicly or privately available and the intended workflow.
If you plan to make your integration publicly available, we will follow up to discuss listing it in the Bluebeam Integrations Directory for greater visibility among Bluebeam users.
Once your request is submitted, Bluebeam will review your access request to the Developer Portal within 24 to 48 hours. We want to enable you to start building and managing your integrations as soon as possible.
Get started in the Bluebeam Developer Portal
The Bluebeam Developer Portal, for integrations development, is only available to active customers, channel partners, and software partners in the US, AU, DE, UK, and SE regions.
You can choose your path by:
-
Learning more about the new Bluebeam API in the Platform Overview section
-
Reviewing the Migration Guide section if you have an existing Prime Integration that you want to migrate to the new Integrations Platform
-
Reviewing the Get an access token section if you have to quickly make a call
View more details in the Get Started in the Bluebeam Developer Portal support page.
Developer Portal Authentication Guide
Requests to all Bluebeam API endpoints must be authenticated. Apps connect to Bluebeam using OAuth 2.0. The Authentication Guide shows you how to get an access_token to authenticate, on behalf of a user, in your App.
Developer Portal Studio Sessions guide
Think of a Studio Session like a digital conference room where PDFs can be marked up either simultaneously or asynchronously. The Studio Sessions Guide covers the general life cycle of a Studio Session and includes code examples. To learn more about Studio and Studio Sessions in general, visit our Studio FAQ page.
