Page Setup

The Page Setup feature in Revu allows for the resizing of pages in a PDF file.  In addition to scaling a drawing up or down, this tool can also be used to add borders to PDFs (for example, for binding purposes as shown in the Resizing PDF Pages Tutorial).  Using the Page Setup feature modifies the PDF file, therefore it cannot be used on PDF/A documents or documents that have been certified or digitally signed.

  1. Go to Document > Page Setup. The Crop and Page Setup dialog box appears.

    The Preview section on the right shows the current media size as well as the size of the drawing and its scale.

  1. Select an option from the Media Size dropdown menu, if desired.  This is analogous to the size of the paper the drawing is to be printed on, even if it is not to be printed. If Auto Scale is enabled, the drawing will automatically scale up or down to fit the new media size, as appropriate.
    • In addition to several, standardized sizes, there is also an option for Custom Page Size. Select this to define a custom size, then select Portrait or Landscape and set the Width and Height fields manually.
  2. Adjust the Scale manually, as desired.
  3. To adjust the drawing on the page along the X or Y axis, set the Offset X or Y values appropriately.
  4. To rotate the drawing on the page, set the Rotation.
    • To set the Rotation according to a line on the drawing, click Get Line and click and drag the desired line on the drawing.
  5. To reset the Offset, Scale, and Rotation settings, click Clear.
  6. To center the drawing, click Center.
  7. To fit the drawing to the media, select one of the alignment options from the Fit to Media dropdown menu.

  1. Determine the page range to resize from the Pages dropdown menu. The available options are:

    • All Pages: Sets the range to all pages.
    • Current: Sets the range to the current page only. The current page number will appear in parentheses, for example, Current (2) if page 2 is the current page.
    • Selected: Sets the range to the current selection. This option only appears if pages were selected prior to invoking the command.
    • Custom: Sets the range to a custom value. When this option is selected the list becomes a text box. To enter a custom range:
      • Use a dash between page numbers to define those two pages and all pages in between.
      • Use a comma to define pages that are separated.

      For example: 1-3, 5, 9 will include pages 1, 2, 3, 5 and 9.

  2. Click OK.
