Create offset copies of markups
Applies to:
- Revu 21
There are two ways to create copies of markups with a specified offset distance:
-
Use Multiply to create a same-size parallel copy of a markup.
-
Use Offset to create a smaller or larger offset copy of a markup, or to offset as a different markup type (for example, offset a Rectangle as a Cloud or Volume markup).
Markups you create with Multiply or Offset are independent markups, not grouped markups.
Use the Multiply tool to create same-size parallel copies of markups and measurements. Multiply only allows you to duplicate markups in the four cardinal directions (up, down, left, right).
The number of copies you can create are limited to the number that can fit on the sheet.
- Create your markup or measurement.
- Right-click the markup and select Multiply.
If the scale of your drawing is not calibrated, you will be prompted to set the page scale. - Choose the direction you want to place the copies.
- Enter the distance between the copies, and choose the unit of measurement.
- Enter the number of copies you want to create.
- If you're multiplying a rotated markup, select Rotation to keep the rotation in the copies.

- Select OK.
In Revu 21.9 or later, use the Offset tool to create smaller or larger offset copies of markups, or to offset as a different markup type. Only
certain markups can be offset.
To create an offset markup, follow these steps:
- To offset the existing markup as the same markup type, go to Edit > Offset.
To offset the existing markup as a different markup type, do one of the following:- In the Tool Chest, right-click a markup and select Offset as.
- Go to Edit > Offset, and change the Offset as option in the Offset toolbar.
The Properties toolbar must be visible to use Offset. If the Properties toolbar is not shown, you will be prompted to show it.
If the scale of your drawing is not calibrated, you will be prompted to set the page scale.
To create a separate, different markup that's the same size as the selected markup, see Convert or duplicate a markup to a different markup type. - Adjust the properties in the Offset toolbar as needed.
- Hover near your markup to see a preview of the offset, and click to place the offset.
Enable Reuse Markup Tools to quickly place multiple offset markups.
