iOS App Version 1.24

What's New:

  • Edit locally stored PDFs – Open and mark up PDFs saved directly on your device, from other DMS apps, or through the iOS Files app. Files opened from supported storage providers can be saved back to their original location, while others can be exported elsewhere. If you’re working with files from a DMS, be sure they’re downloaded first so you can access and edit them offline in Bluebeam.

  • Offline Studio Projects – Designate entire Projects, folders, or individual files to be used offline. Items are checked for revisions when you’re online and synced in the background during app launch, reconnect, or overnight. Files you don’t designate are still cached automatically but removed after 90 days to save space.

  • Pen eraser – Erase parts of individual pen strokes while drawing or editing, giving you more control without needing to start over.

  • Freehand improvements – Drawing with Apple Pencil or touch is now smoother and more responsive, fixing lag and input delay reported by users.

What's New:

  • Check out and check in Project files on iOS - Users can now check out Studio Project files directly from the iOS app. While checked out, licensed users can place and edit markups, add comments, and update statuses—even in the field. Files can be checked out from any platform, but only changes made from the platform used to check in will be saved.

  • Check in files with or without an internet connection - Users can check in files with or without an internet connection. If offline, the file will display a "pending" state in the editor. When back online, the app auto-syncs changes and clears the pending status—no action needed.

  • Stay informed when files are checked out - If another user has checked out the file, it appears with a lock icon and is view-only for everyone else. Users can still view the file in read-only mode.

  • Discard changes and check the file back in - Users can discard edits and return the file to its read-only state. This helps avoid saving accidental changes and prevents version lockups.

  • Navigate across Studio files with hyperlinks and deep links - Users can now tap PDF hyperlinks or studio:// deep links on markups to quickly open connected documents or jump to related files within a Studio Project—making it easier to reference other files and linked content from mobile.

Add rectangular clouds by tapping and dragging across the desired region. For irregular shapes, use the polygon cloud option by tapping to plot points around the targeted zone.

  • Ellipse markup – Call out circular or oval areas of interest in your drawings with an Ellipse Markup. Instantly insert a pre-sized ellipse with a single tap or customize your shape by tapping and dragging across the desired zone. Once added, edit properties like fill color, fill opacity, border color, and border opacity to fit your project needs. The Ellipse Markup enables quick circular callouts within your plans.

  • Highlighter markup – Our Highlighter tool lets you emphasize important text, dimensions, or other key data points by applying transparent highlighting. Customize the highlighter color and opacity to draw attention to crucial details within your drawings for easier review.

Markup Editor

  • View your PDF-based documents and drawings in full resolution on web or mobile, giving you visual clarity for every important detail.

  • Mark up and collaborate on project files in the Bluebeam Cloud web app using familiar markup tools, including Cloud+.

We’re excited to introduce My Documents in Bluebeam on the web! With this release, you can:

  • Mark up and edit your personal files.

  • Share drawings with others and set permissions for collaborators.

  • Set scale and perform accurate measurements directly on your documents.

My Documents is available in all regions. This update gives you greater flexibility, collaboration, and precision all in one place.

Studio Projects Search

Studio Project Search helps you find files, folders, and markups quickly using keywords or natural language. It is available for users in the US server region and supports only US-EN language.

  • Find PDF files and content (text and markups) efficiently with the enhanced Studio Project Search feature. Search for keyword matches across all folders and subfolders within a project.

  • Use filters to narrow your search by type, created date, or modified date.

  • Build queries using natural language and refine your search with available filters.

  • Clicking a markup match takes you directly to the exact location in the document where the markup appears (available in Web only, coming soon to Revu 21.8).

Punch reporting improvements
Our new Punch Report PDF service will allow you to generate and receive punch reports of all sizes without confusion or errors. When you visit the punch page and choose Generate Report and As PDF, the new exporting process will include the following enhancements:

  • Informs you that a PDF report will be emailed to you as soon as it's complete

  • Generates reports of all sizes without errors due to file size or attachment counts

  • Includes Groups (if assigned)

  • Sends an email to you containing a link to download the report, good for 24 hours

My Workspace provides a personal space within Bluebeam Cloud where you can quickly and privately upload PDFs, and mark them up outside of a Bluebeam Cloud Project. Using My Workspace you can:

  • Make a personal note on a drawing or specification.

  • Begin reviewing a document on your personal workstation, and then pick up where you left off working in any web browser.
