Revu 20 Starter Kit

Welcome!

We're here to help you get started with Bluebeam Revu.

First things first, make sure Revu is installed on your computer. Check out our step-by-step installation guide.

Overview

Now that you’ve installed Revu, let’s open it up and explore the interface.

This short introductory video will show you how to navigate Revu’s toolbars, panels and the main workspace.

To start using all these tools, let’s open a PDF. You can open one by going to File > Open open . You can also make Revu your default PDF viewer, so you can select any PDF on your computer and automatically open it in Revu.

Tip: Once a file is open, you have two options for how to use your mouse wheel: zooming and scrolling. If you hold the Ctrl key while scrolling, you can quickly switch between both. You can also configure your mouse wheel to your liking.

Make comments and markups

Now that you have the interface basics down, let’s start adding markups like clouds, comments and callouts to your document.

Here’s an overview of the different kinds of markups you can create in Revu.

There are a few ways to make adding and managing markups even simpler.

  • To add a cloud studio_cloud to your drawing, select C on your keyboard and click and drag around the specified area.
  • Double-click any markup and enter your comment into the text box that appears. You can later review your comments in the Markups List.
  • The Markups List markups_list_summary is where you can view and interact with all the markups on a page. To leave a reply to a markup or to set the status, right-click a markup within the list or on the drawing itself. You can even filter each column to view markups by type, approval status, or author.

Tip: Want to use different shapes, colors and styles to represent different people, issues or disciplines? You can customize your markups and stamps to best fit your workflow. To save custom markups or stamps to your Tool Chest tool_chest, right-click the markup and select Add to Tool Chest.

Now that we know how to add markups, let’s start collaborating in Studio!
