Bluebeam Revu 2018 Compatibility & System Requirements

Operating Systems

  • Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. With this in mind, we’re unable to support Revu software running on unsupported versions of Windows. For more information, please see our Technical Services Overview.

.NET Framework

As part of the installation, the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 will be installed if .NET 4.6.1 or higher does not already exist on the workstation. Further information about the .NET Framework may be found here.

Virtual Environments

Bluebeam Revu is certified Citrix Ready for XenApp 6.5-7.6 and XenDesktop 7.14, 7.16, 7.17, 7.18, and 7.15 LTSR.

In order to stay compliant with our EULA (End User License Agreement), you must purchase as many seats as there are Revu users in your organization.

Note that Windows Server 2012 R2 and newer are supported under Citrix environments.

Plugins

Each edition of Bluebeam Revu (Standard, CAD and eXtreme) contains a different set of plugins for one-click PDF creation.

Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office 2010 - 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Office 365 (supported with locally installed applications). Previous versions of Office and Office 365 Online apps are supported through the Bluebeam PDF printer.

StandardCADeXtreme

The Bluebeam PDF printer works with all CAD and Windows applications installed on your PC; i.e., AutoCAD LT, Revit LT™, older versions of Revit, Autodesk Inventor, MicroStation.

The Bluebeam PDF printer does not support virtualization, renaming, or print servers.

Fonts

Bluebeam Revu supports TrueType (.ttf) and OpenType (.otf) fonts only.

PDF/A Support

Bluebeam Revu supports creating files that are PDF/A-1b compliant according to ISO standards.

Hardware

The below requirements are suitable for both Windows desktops and tablets.

Minimum Requirements

Display

1024 x 768

A display driver supporting OpenGL 3.0 or above is required to display 360° photos.

Processor
Desktops and laptops: 1 GHz processor or equivalent (recommended, see discussion below)
Tablets: Intel i3 processor or equivalent
Revu currently does not support ARM processors, like those found in the Surface Pro X. Microsoft has more information in this FAQ.
RAM
4 GB (32-bit Windows)
8 GB (64-bit Windows)
Hard Disk
At least 5 GB of available space may be required
Using Revu for working with typical office documents
When using Revu for general office applications, a standard, general class computer that meets the above requirements may be used.
Using Revu for working with large sets of engineering documents
When working with large drawing sets (for example, construction project bid sets) in which the PDFs may contain hundreds of large format drawings, it is recommended that workstations have adequate memory and processor resources. A recommended hardware configuration would be 64-bit Windows with an Intel i5 Dual Core or better processor, as well as at least 8 GB of RAM. Revu can run on systems with lower specifications; however, a workstation with these settings will provide the optimal performance.
Using Revu for OCR
OCR is included with the 64-bit version of Revu eXtreme. OCR will not work in 32-bit Revu.
