Import/Export Preferences

Text Content Recovery: Select a method for processing content that appears as text but is not formatted as text in the document (for example, text found in a scanned image) during export.

• Process Scanned Content Only: Revu detects scanned content and only runs the conversion process on it. This has the benefit of improved performance.
• Process All Content: Revu runs the conversion process on all content being exported. This will impede performance and is recommended only when auto-recognition (used in the Process Scanned Content Only option) fails to recover text on some pages.
• Do Not Process: Revu does not run the conversion process on any pages being exported.

Open File After Export: When enabled, exported files are automatically opened in their new format.

Reconstruction Mode: Determines the method that is used to recover page layout, column formatting, graphics, and preserve text flow.

• Flowing: Preserves as much of the original content as possible. This is the default setting.
• Continuous: Does not recover page layout and column formatting, but does retain text flow.
• Exact: Recovers the exact page layout of the PDF by using text boxes in the export file instead of preserving text flow.

Headers and Footers: Determines the method that is used to deal with headers and footers found in the original PDF.

• Retain: Converts the PDF's headers and footers into Word headers and footers.
• Add as Text: Adds the PDF's header and footer text as part of the export file's text flow rather than as headers and footers.
• Remove: Leaves the PDF's headers and footers out of the export file.

Detect Lists and Tables: When enabled, Revu attempts to detect lists and tables in the PDF being exported and formats them accordingly in the exported file.

Include Markups: When enabled, Revu attempts to convert PDF markups into a compatible version within the export file.

Workbook Settings: Determines whether PDF pages are exported as a Single Worksheet or as a Worksheet for each page.

Include Non-Table Content: When enabled, Revu attempts to convert elements of the PDF that are not in table form (for example, images).

Combine Tables: When enabled, Revu attempts to combine tables in the PDF that are similar into a one table in the exported file.

Automatically Detect Numbers:

Thousands Separator: Determines what delimiter is used as a digit group separator in large numbers. Options are: Comma or Period.

Decimal Symbol: Determines what delimiter is used between the integer and the decimal value of a number. Options are: Comma or Period.

Detect Lists and Tables: When enabled, Revu attempts to detect lists and tables in the PDF being exported and formats them accordingly in the exported file.

Photo Resolution: Determines the image quality used for Image Markups placed with an attached camera or for images embedded in markups. Note that as the resolution is increased, the file size will also increase as well.

Camera resolutions are:

• Low: 320x420

• Medium: 640x480

• High: 1280x960

Video Resolution: Determines the video quality used for embedded videos.

Video resolutions are:

• Low: 320x420

• Medium: 640x480

Camera Portrait Orientation: Controls how Revu understands the orientation of the device's built-in camera. On some devices, integrated cameras may be installed in a flipped orientation. If images on a device are captured with the Normal setting and appear rotated, selecting Inverted should correct any further images captured.

Import Image Resolution: Controls the resolution of images that are added to a PDF from a file, either as an Image Markup or Embedded Markup Media.

Image resolutions are:

• Original: Maintains the image's original resolution

• Low: 320x420

• Medium: 640x480

• High: 1280x960

Image Drag/Drop Behavior: Determines the action taken when an image is embedded in a markup by dragging-and-dropping.

Import Image as PDF Colorspace: Determines what type of color information will be stored in the converted image. The options are True Color (24-bit), Grayscale (8-bit), Monochrome (1-bit), and Auto Detect which, when selected, allows Revu to determine the appropriate option for the content (default).

Import Image as PDF Resolution: Sets the resolution of the resulting image in pixels/inch.

Scanned Color Images as JPEG: When enabled, a True Color (24/32 bit) image scanned or imported into Revu is encoded as a JPEG in the resulting PDF. This typically results in a more photographic image with a smaller file size, but if the results contain visual artifacts, disable this option.

Export Image as PDF Colorspace: Determines what type of color information will be stored in the converted image. The options are True Color (24-bit), Grayscale (8-bit), Monochrome (1-bit), and Auto Detect which, when selected, will allow Revu to determine the appropriate option for the content (default).

Export Image as PDF Resolution: Sets the resolution of the resulting image in pixels/inch.

TIFF Compression: Defines the compression scheme to use for monochrome TIFF output.

Create Multi-Page TIFFs: When enabled, multi-page TIFFs are created from multi-page PDFs. If unchecked, TIFFs are created per page.

Page Number: Defines the suffix to be added to the original PDF filename when creating multiple image files. This applies when trying to output a multi-page PDF to an image format that does not support multiple pages. Each page of the PDF will be output as a separate file with the contents of this field appended to the original file's name. The default value has a space before the word "Page" so there will be a space between the filename and the suffix.
