TLS Changes to Studio Public API

This article applies to:

  • Studio Prime

On December 20, 2023, Bluebeam will perform necessary updates to the Studio Public API. As a part of these updates, we’ll disable Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols 1.0 and 1.1, and only support TLS 1.2 across the Studio Public API.

Why is this happening?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) deprecated TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in March of 2021 due to a variety of security vulnerabilities. AWS is updating their systems/protocols to accept only TLS 1.2 and newer. Given these changes, we’re required to update our systems to ensure that Studio Public API continues to function.

Continued Functionality

Any partners that have built 3rd party integrations on top of the Studio Public API need to ensure that their integrations are updated to use TLS 1.2. If TLS 1.0 or 1.1 are used in any of these applications, they’ll fail after December 20, 2023.  We strongly encourage all partners to review their applications to ensure that they use TLS 1.2.
