Studio Login Error: “Failed to get application data.” | Revu 2018

Summary

The Studio login screen doesn’t load when opening Revu. When clicking “Sign In” to Studio, an error appears stating, “Failed to get application data.”

Bluebeam Studio uses cookies from Internet Explorer in order to access Studio. If you receive the error “Failed to get application data,” make sure that Internet Explorer is configured to accept cookies:

    1. Go to Start Menu > All Programs > Windows Accessories > Internet Explorer.
    2. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options
    3. Click the Privacy tab.
    4. Click Advanced.
    5. In the Advanced Privacy Settings dialog, make sure the “Always allow session cookies” checkbox is filled.
    6. Click OK to close the Advanced Privacy Settings dialog, and then click OK to close the Internet Options window.
    7. Open Revu.
    8. Go to the Studio pane and click Sign In.
    9. When logging in to Studio, you will receive a privacy alert in the Studio login screen asking to allow the Studio cookies. Fill the checkbox Apply my decision to all cookies from this website and then click the Allow Cookies button.
      If this doesn’t resolve the issue, reopen the Advanced Privacy Settings dialog and select Accept for both First-Party and Third-Party Cookies. After Studio connects, you can choose to block cookies if needed.
