Bluebeam is moving Revu from a licensing and maintenance model to subscription. For more information, see the Bluebeam Subscription FAQ.
Microsoft ACS retirement
Microsoft retired their Access Control Service (ACS), a cloud authentication service that authorized users to access certain web applications and services. The 2015.5 and 2015.6 versions of Revu use ACS when users attempt to register or activate a computer to a license of Revu online. As a result, the online registration process will no longer work within these versions of Revu.
For Enterprise License and Perpetual License users, Revu 2015.5 and 2015.6 can still be registered using the manual process. For more information, see theManually registering Revusection of this article.
Affected license types
For detailed information on how ACS affects your installed versions of Revu, click on your license type below.
Open Licence
With ACS offline, machines running Revu 2015.5 or 2015.6 will no longer be able to connect to Bluebeam’s licensing server. This means Revu will not be able to acquire a seat for these devices on your Open License. The ACS retirement also affects your ability to track and manage your installed licenses through the Bluebeam Gateway. To register and unregister without Manually Authorizing, all installations of Revu 2015.5 and 2015.6 that have active Maintenance must be upgraded to any newer version of Revu. As an Open License user, you are eligible for a free upgrade to any newer version of Revu. For eligibility details, see Upgrading Revu.
Enterprise License
With ACS offline, machines running Revu 2015.5 or 2015.6 will no longer be able to connect to Bluebeam’s licensing server. This means your Enterprise Licenses must be manually registered (SeeManually registering Revu), and unregistered by contacting us. Additionally, the ACS retirement affects your ability to track and manage your installed licenses through the Bluebeam Gateway. To register and unregister without Manually Authorizing, all installations of Revu 2015.5 and 2015.6 that have active Maintenance must be upgraded to any newer version of Revu. For eligibility details, see Upgrading Revu.
Perpetual License
With ACS offline, your currently registered installations of Revu 2015.5 or 2015.6 will continue to work as usual. However, reinstalling Revu on the same device or transferring your license to a new device will require a manual process (SeeManually registering Revu). To unregister Revu from any device, you will need to contact us.
