Revu provides a robust collection of print options.

ClosedPrinting from Revu

Printing in Revu is controlled through the Print dialog box. To open this dialog box and print the current PDF, go to File > Print > Print or press ⌘+P.

  • To print only a portion of the current PDF, select either Select Print Window, which lets you drag a rectangle around the exact content you want to print, or Print Current View, which prints only what is currently viewable in the main workspace, from the Print menu. The Print dialog box opens, previewing only the selected content.

Print options are broken up into sections. Some of these will be integral to your current print job and others will probably go untouched. Click Show Details to reveal these sections. Each section is discussed below.

ClosedPreview Section

Shows how the PDF will appear on the printed page. Step through the pages using the navigation tools at the bottom of the preview pane.

ClosedPrinter Section

Printer: Lists the available printers on the system.

Presets: Lists the available printer presets. To save the current printer settings as a preset, select Save Current Settings as Preset and name the preset in the dialog box that appears.

Copies: Determines how many copies of the PDF or selected pages will print.

Pages: Determines which pages of the PDF will print. Select either All or From and enter the desired page range.

Paper Size: Select the physical paper size onto which the page will be printed.

Orientation: Select the page orientation, either Portrait or Landscape.

ClosedRevu Page Handling Options

Fit to Paper: Select to expand or shrink the page to fit the paper size within the defined margins.

Reduce to Paper: Select to reduce the page to fit the paper within the defined margins.

Fill Paper: Select to expand or shrink the page to fit the paper size, ignoring the defined margins.

Custom Scale: Select and enter a custom scale percentage to manually scale the document to the page.

Rotation: Rotates the page content or allows Revu to automatically rotate the content when appropriate.

Center Content: Automatically centers the content on the page.

Custom Position:  Manually positions the content on the page. Enter the X and Y position of the upper-left corner of the content.

ClosedLayout Options

Select Layout from the Layout/Paper Handling menu to reveal the Layout options.

Pages per Sheet: Determines the number of pages to a sheet. Choosing a number other than 1 will result in the defined number of pages being shrunk to fit the page.

Layout Direction: Chooses the orientation and direction of the pages on the sheet. Only applies when more than one page is being printed per sheet.

Border: Draws a box around each page on the sheet to create separation. Select the desired border style from the menu.

Two-sided: Enables two-sided printing when On is selected. Off by default. Only available when the selected printer supports two-sided printing.

Reverse page orientation: Flips the page vertically.

Flip horizontally: Flips the page horizontally.

ClosedPaper Handling Options

Select Paper Handling from the Layout/Paper Handling menu to reveal the Paper Handling options.

Collate Pages : Keeps pages in order when printing multiple copies. For example, if unchecked, two copies of a three-page document will print in this order: 1,1,2,2,3,3. If checked, the order will be 1,2,3,1,2,3.

Pages to Print: Select whether to print All pages, or just the Odd Only or Even Only pages.

Page Order: Select the order in which to print the selected pages: Automatic, Normal, or Reverse.

Scale to fit paper size: Select to expand or shrink the page to fit the paper size.

Destination Paper Size: Use this list to select the page size manually.

Scale down only: Select to only shrink the page to fit the selected Destination Paper Size; pages will not be expanded.
