Form Properties: Appearance
The Appearance Properties determine the visual settings for a field. All fields except the Digital Signature field have an Appearance panel.
Color: Sets the border color of the field.
Tip: the Highlight feature will overlay a blue color over the specified field. This can make the color selection a little difficult. Turn off this feature to easily set the color property and turn it back on when the correct color has been selected.
Fill Color: Sets the background color of the field. See the tip for the Color option above when setting Fill Color.
Line Width: Sets the border width of the field. The Color property must be specified to enable setting the Line Width.
Style: Sets the border style for the field. The Color property must be specified to enable setting the Style.
Font: Sets the font that will be used to render text in the field. It is shown as a drop-down list that renders the font name in its style.
Note: Once a font is selected and is used to render text, the font becomes embedded in the PDF file.
Text Color: Sets the color of the rendered font.
Font Size: Sets the size of the rendered font in points. It has an option, Auto, which can be used to fill the entire field with the entered text. This has the effect that if the amount of text is small, then the font will be large, and if the amount of text is large, the font will be small.
Font Style: There are two font styles available: Bold and Italic. There are some caveats when specifying font styles: 1) not all fonts have support for bolding, and 2) not all fonts have support for italicizing.
